Job Fair at St. Marys Catholic Church, Nadiad, Gujarat

The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM), Ahmedabad Diocese, in collaboration with the Don Bosco Job Placement Network (JPN), Delhi, organized a successful job fair at St. Marys Catholic Church, Nadiad, with the objective of connecting youth with meaningful employment opportunities and enabling local career growth.

The fair witnessed the participation of 13 recruitment partners offering over 950 job openings across sectors. A total of 174 candidates registered, and 83 attended in person. The drive resulted in an impressive 293 job offers, with 76 candidates successfully placed. The initiative addressed immediate employment needs while fostering long-term industry engagement with local youth.

The event was graced by the presence of dignitaries including Fr. Ambrose Dabhi, Parish Priest and Manager of St. Marys Church and School; Fr. Edwin Anand, Youth Director of ICYM Ahmedabad; Mr. Shailesh Rathod, journalist and ICYM mentor; and Mr. Harish, Programme Manager of Don Bosco JPN. Their encouragement and support provided motivation and inspiration to candidates and recruiters alike.

Many candidates expressed appreciation for the opportunity, highlighting the smooth and organized process. Among them, Nancy, who secured a position at T-Tec, shared, “The job fair helped me find a job that matches my skills and gave me confidence in my abilities.” Another candidate, Thoyu Mona Mansingh, stated, “It was well-conducted and encouraging. I felt valued and supported throughout the process.”

Recruiters too praised the events organization and quality of candidates. Mr. Nilesh Macwan, HR at IIFL Samasta Finance, said, “The energy and preparedness of the candidates were truly commendable. We look forward to future collaboration.” Ms. Priyanka from Prose Technologies added, “We appreciate the professionalism and efficiency with which the job fair was executed. The candidate pool was strong and relevant.”

The events success was made possible through the leadership of Fr. Edwin Anand and Fr. Gabriel Karunaraj SDB, along with the dedicated efforts of the ICYM leadership team: Mr. Kevin (President), Ms. Sharon (Vice President), Mr. Krutesh (Treasurer), Mr. Jenish (PRO Committee), and Mr. Nelson (National Treasurer). Valuable contributions also came from Mr. Ruchith, Mr. Rehan, Mr. Sandeep Minj (Placement Coordinator, Delhi JPN), Mr. Peter (Programme Coordinator), and Mr. Harish.

Special thanks to Fr. Ambrose and the non-teaching staff of St. Marys School for their exceptional support. The job fair marked a powerful collaboration, empowering youth and strengthening connections between communities and employers.
