Don Bosco Vazhikaatti, Chennai, in collaboration with Don Bosco College, Dharmapuri, conducted a three-day seminar on Bosco Employability Skills Training (BEST) for 520 graduating students from December 9 to 11, 2024. The seminar, led by Fr. Joe Anand SDB, Director of Don Bosco Vazhikaatti, Chennai, and his dedicated team, aimed to equip students with crucial skills to enhance their career prospects. Through engaging sessions and expert guidance, the students were empowered to face challenges and embrace opportunities, making the event a truly transformative experience. The seminar covered a wide range of valuable topics designed to prepare students for the professional world. These included creating a professional profile and branding oneself, personal grooming and workplace etiquette, career guidance on life after graduation, interview preparation, and group discussion skills. Additionally, students were trained in essential management skills such as time, people, and resource management, core professional skills, and navigating both government and private job opportunities. Sessions also introduced students to government portals, scholarships (both domestic and foreign), and career options abroad. A mock interview session provided practical exposure, enabling students to gain confidence for real-world scenarios. The event also featured guest speakers who shared their expertise and insights. Mr. Manikandan, HR Manager of Quess Corp Pvt Ltd, Bangalore, provided an in-depth understanding of the current job market and hiring trends. Young Professionals from Dharmapuri were invited to introduce the National Career Services portal, offering students valuable information on its features and the opportunities it provides.
