The ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA) - Don Bosco Job Placement Network, Dimapur in collaboration with the Ministry of of Labour and Employment, National Career Service Centre for Differently Abled Dimapur, NCSC SC & ST Kohima, Employment Exchange Dimapur and Model Career Center Dimapur organised a Job Fair on 5th October 2024 at Don Bosco AIDA, Dimapur which aimed to connect job seekers with employers and facilitate employment opportunities. Rev. Dr. Fr. Roy George SDB, Executive Director of AIDA, welcomed the gathering. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Moatoshi Longkumer, MLA and Advisor for Labour & Employment, Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, and Excise Department. In his inaugural speech, Mr. Longkumer lauded the initiative, calling the job fair a place where "dreams intersect with possibilities." He stressed the significance of such events in bridging the gap between talent and opportunity, highlighting the need for similar initiatives to reduce the unemployment rate, especially in Dimapur, where over 70,000 individuals are still seeking jobs. Mr. Longkumer emphasized that job seekers should approach the fair with purpose and commitment, as it offers more than just employment but also a chance to find workplaces aligned with their values and long-term goals. He further emphasized the importance of a healthy employer-employee relationship, urging businesses to treat employees with fairness and respect, fostering loyalty and success within organizations. Mr. Gideon L. Sumi, District Employment Officer of Dimapur, spoke as the guest of honor, addressing the serious unemployment crisis and encouraging job seekers to take full advantage of the opportunities available at the fair. Dr. T. Mohan, Assistant Director of the National Career Service Center for Differently Abled, highlighted the job fairs role in connecting differently-abled individuals with employment, promoting inclusivity. The event was coordinated by Rev. Dr. Fr. Roy George and Mr. Sebi Chacko, Placement Coordinator at Don Bosco Job Placement Network, who delivered the vote of thanks. This collaborative effort demonstrated a strong commitment to addressing unemployment and creating meaningful opportunities for the community.
