ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA) – Don Bosco Job Placement Network (JPN), Dimapur, in partnership with Don Bosco College Kohima, the Ministry of Labour and Employments National Career Service Centre for Differently Abled (Dimapur), and ST/SC Kohima, organized a dynamic Job Fair on the college premises. The initiative was designed to bridge the gap between employers and job seekers in and around Kohima while raising awareness about employment opportunities available within the state. The fair aimed to provide direct access to job openings, facilitate face-to-face interviews, and increase visibility of local employment prospects for young people in the region.
The event drew participation from eight verified companies across various industries such as Finance, Hospitality, Retail, and Sales. All companies were registered through the official job portal, ensuring a standardized data collection process. A total of 163 job seekers registered for the drive, and by the end of the day, more than 94 candidates had been successfully placed. This turnout reflected the success of the initiative, not only in terms of placements but also in the quality of opportunities provided. Additionally, four companies joined remotely to widen the employment reach even further.
The Career Expo, held alongside the job fair, featured over 16 organizations offering guidance, educational resources, and vocational training opportunities. Notable participants included the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Assam Rifles, and several academic and training institutions such as Flywayy Institute of Airhostess Training, Assam Don Bosco University, Eduversity, and MIT Shillong. These organizations provided students and job seekers with information on defence recruitment, skill development, and higher education pathways. The energy throughout the day remained high as over 300 attendees engaged in one-on-one counselling sessions and explored various career trajectories.
The program commenced with an invocation by Rev. Dr. Fr. Xavier Mattam SDB, followed by a welcome note from Rev. Dr. Fr. Tious Varghese SDB. Rev. Dr. Fr. Roy George SDB, Executive Director of AIDA Dimapur, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the significance of youth empowerment through employment. Fr. Gabriel Karunaraj SDB, National Director of DBJPN, presented an overview of the networks impact across India. Shri R.S. Siipuni Pou from the Ministry of Labour and Employment shared insights on building strong employer-candidate relationships. The day concluded with a vote of thanks from Mr. Sebi Chacko, the Regional JPN coordinator, who, along with Ms. Zevisanuo Khate and Mr. Harish, JPN Programme Manager, ensured the seamless coordination of the event.
