On October 26, 2024, Don Bosco Job Placement Network, Bengaluru, in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and KCYM - Palghat Diocese, organized a job fair at the Diocesan Pastoral Center in Palakkad. The event was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. James Chakkyath, Chartism Director of the Palghat Diocese, along with Rev. Fr. Jobin Melamuriyil, Director of KCYM (Palghat Diocese), and Ms. Teena Thomas, Advocate and General Secretary of KCYM (Palghat Diocese). Mr. Jibin Pious, Secretary of KCYM (Palghat Diocese), extended a warm welcome to the gathering, while Mr. Bibin Kurian, President of KCYM (Palghat Diocese), delivered the presidential address. Mr. Sai Dhanesh, Coordinator for CII Palakkad, spoke about CIIs services and the collaboration between Don Bosco JPN and the Kerala Government. Ms. Pooja Anil, Kudumbashree Ambassador for Palakkad, shared insights on the DWMS portal and the initiatives of Kudumbashree. Mr. Dhinakaran, Placement Coordinator from Bengaluru, highlighted the services offered by Don Bosco Job Placement Network, providing valuable guidance to the attendees. The event was also graced by the presence of Mr. Harish, Program Coordinator for Don Bosco Job Placement Network, and Br. Raigon Edakalathu, Regent Brother of KCYM (Palghat Diocese). The job fair saw 123 pre-registered participants, along with 66 walk-ins, and provided 208 job opportunities across various sectors. A total of 17 employers actively participated in recruiting talent. The event was successfully executed thanks to the support of Rev. Fr. Jobin Melamuriyil, Director of KCYM (Palghat Diocese); Rev. Fr. Gabriel Karunaraj SDB, National Director of DBJPN; Rev. Fr. Jito, Assistant Director of BREADS; Mr. John Martin, Program Manager of Don Bosco Job Placement Network; and Mr. Dhinakaran, Placement Coordinator from Bengaluru. Mr. Harish, Program Coordinator, played a key role in coordinating the event. Special appreciation was extended to the volunteers from the KCYM Team for their invaluable assistance. The job fair provided a vital platform for job seekers to connect with potential employers, fostering meaningful opportunities for both parties. It marked a significant effort toward reducing unemployment and bridging the gap between job seekers and employers in the region.
