In a significant stride towards empowering job seekers, the Don Bosco Job Placement Network participated in a dynamic job fair organized by BIDS Don Bosco and Don Bosco Technical School in the serene backdrop of Shillong. This event, held on August 10, 2023, at the picturesque campus of Don Bosco Technical School in Meghalaya, created a platform where talents met opportunities, leaving an enduring impression on the local job market. A remarkable turnout of over 31 companies was represented, offering a diverse spectrum of career prospects spanning various industries. The robust presence of these companies underscored the job fairs dedication to furnishing candidates with a wide array of potential career pathways. Driven by enthusiasm and motivation, more than 500 candidates engaged directly with representatives from these esteemed companies during the event. Following interviews and meaningful interactions, the attributes and capabilities of 300 candidates earned them a spot on the shortlist for prospective positions. The event was graced by the Provincial of Shillong, accompanied by other esteemed guests from the region. Fr. Arcadius Paweıñ, Principal of Don Bosco Technical School, Shillong, and Fr. Genesis Wanniang, Executive Director of BIDS, both underscored the pivotal role played by the Don Bosco Job Placement Network in fostering connections between job seekers and industry leading companies over the years, thus significantly contributing to the expansion of opportunities for candidates. Beyond just interviews, this job fair represented a harmonious synergy between educational institutions and corporate entities. It offered a dynamic platform for candidates to gain insights into the industry landscape and enabled recruiters to identify promising talents. The pivotal roles played by the placement coordinators from BIDS and DB Technical School Shillong were further amplified by the coordinators of the Don Bosco Job Placement Network from Dimapur and Guwahati.
